The Lightbox is an all-in-one marketing automation tool.
Follow the tips below to increase your results,
for a higher return on your investment.
SPECIAL EVENT MARKETING
The quickest and easiest way to increase your venue’s revenue with the Hotpoint Lightbox is to rent it out to your clients.
You can rent it out to corporate event buy-outs, special events, VIP clients and large group reservations.
Average pricing can range anywhere from $100-1,000 per day, quote them at your leisure, and keep the cash.
Step 1: Create awareness of the Lightbox inside your venue. Promote it to your customers during your venue walk-throughs, on your website, social media, event deck, and other mediums to incentive them to book it for their event. Use this customizable info deck template to share with your potential clients > request for a customized deck now.
Step 2: Customize their graphics. Add their company logo, name, and design the graphic experience to match the theme of the event. Use sites like CANVA and CLEANPNG, or Photoshop to create them. You can find the graphic spec sheets here, or contact us directly for graphic design services.
Step 3: Share the data. Export the GIFs / Photos / Emails captured at the event from the dashboard and share them with your client after the event! Pro Tip: Ask them to leave you a review when you send them the recap email with their data. You can find instructions on data export here.
INCREASE ENGAGEMENT ONSITE
Location, Location, Location
The success of your Hotpoint service is measured on how many people use it each day, and that relies heavily on the location of the Lightbox inside your space.
The Lightbox should be placed in the area with the highest traffic inside your venue, and not an isolated area where you hope the Lightbox will attract them to. Examples of high traffic areas are entryways near the bar / ticketing area, hallways to the bathroom, etc.
We recommend facing the screen towards the entrance where guests are able to spot the LED light as soon as they enter the venue.
If your Lightbox is on a stand, remember to test different areas often until you find best results.
We can also provide a full swivel motion wall mount for the Lightbox for venues with limited spaces.
Educate Your Staff
Educate everyone in your staff on the importance of the Lightbox during your team meetings. Notify them that this isn’t just added fun for your customers, but also a way to help everyone to make more money. Include the Lightbox as a mandatory procedure during their pre-shifts.
Step 1: The Lightbox should stay plugged in to power at all times.
Step 2: The LED light should be on (there is a dimmer on the back of the frame, inside the opening).
Step 3: The Lightbox must be connected to Wi-Fi.
Pro Tip: Ask your staff to take a video each time they work, post on social media, and let their friends know you’re open for business!
Download instructions to share with your staff here.
Create Awareness
Promote the Lightbox to your guests by letting them know that there is a fun and free photo/GIF booth experience inside your venue.
Try our Hotpoint TV feature for the first 30 days to increase awareness. Learn more here.
Post about the Lightbox on your website, social media channels, and physical signage inside your restroom stalls.
Your staff should be encouraging customers to use the Lightbox, create momentum and get them excited about any current offers or active campaigns being promoted on it.
Optimize Your Lightbox Graphics
The entire user experience displayed on the Lightbox touch screen is customizable and it should attract people to use the Lightbox when they are walking by it, and from far away.
The home screen and screen saver video (screen saver is optional) that display when the unit is idle and not in use, should be as clear and as eye-catching as possible.
We recommend large fonts, bold text and a prominent button design with a call-to-action. Example: “Selfie Station – TOUCH TO START” .
Pro Tip: Run a social media campaign and promote it on the Lightbox user experience. Example: “TOUCH HERE FOR 10% OFF YOUR ORDER” / “TOUCH HERE TO WIN $100 GIFT CARD”.
Examples of optimized graphics here.
Optimize Your Lightbox Email Message
Up-sell customers in real-time. Promote offers that make your customers want to spend more, come back sooner, or refer their friends. Examples: “Spend $50 and get a free appetizer” / “Email a friend this $5 coupon and get 5$ off your order”.
Option 1: Design the graphic with the offer (using Photoshop / CANVA / CLEANPNG,), then upload it on the Hotpoint Dashboard > Lightboxes > Email Settings > click the ‘image’ icon > add image URL.
Option 2: Design the entire email message design on platforms like MailChimp, SendGrid, Active Campaign, then export the HTML template file, and upload on the Hotpoint Dashboard > Email Settings > Import Template.
Option 3: Ask the Hotpoint team for graphic design assistance > contact us.
Pro Tip: We highly suggest you use sites like BITLY to track every link you add on the emails you design. That way, you can see what customers are clicking from those campaigns, and get analytics for ROI reports and for insights to adjust campaigns as needed.
INCREASE ENGAGEMENT ONLINE
Social Media Hashtags / Handles
Add your official hashtags on your GIF/Photo ‘watermark’ graphic design. This way it will show on all social media shares, and guests don’t have to guess or search on what/how to tag you when posting it on their profiles. Example here.
Add them on your email message design. Example here.
Viral Social Media Campaigns
Run a contest or a giveaway as an incentive to increase trackable social media posts. This means guests will post their photo/GIF on social media, and remember to hashtag the post, check-in, or mention your handle depending on what your goal is, to be entered into the contest/giveaway.
Social Media Campaign Design Example:

“About last night” campaign: “Saw you looking cute on our video booth last night!”

HOTPOINT MOBILE APP
GIFs get ranked higher on social media algorithms than photos do, so we recommend you only turn on the GIF capture mode on the Lightbox. Ask us how.
On the mobile app, you can find, save, and share the GIFs/Photos to your camera roll, and share them with your social media team for a fresh and consistent flow of content to post on your own channels. Example posts: “Reporting live from ___” / About last night: ___ ” etc.
Monitor the engagement on all your Lightboxes remotely and LIVE – as long as the Lightbox is connected to Wi-Fi.
Send them to online publications as content for PR promo / articles
Request your staff to take GIFs every day before shifts, and share them to promote the venue to their audience. Monitor them by checking the app.
